I'm Marshall - a full-stack developer and IT professional based in Edinburgh. By day I split my time between client web work, homelab tinkering, and whatever infrastructure problem is currently refusing to behave. This blog is where that work spills over into something more permanent than a terminal scrollback.

I build things, take them apart, and put them back together - usually more than once. That's true of the software I write, the servers I run, and honestly most of my hobbies too. This site itself is part of that cycle: a Next.js project I keep rebuilding pieces of as I learn better ways to do it.

Expect posts on the stuff I actually spend my time on: self-hosting and homelab setups, the occasional deep dive into a tool or framework I've been fighting with, notes from client projects once they're far enough along to talk about, and probably some detours into cybersecurity, gaming, or whatever else has my attention that week.
